From San Felice's Bolgheri estate, just a couple of kilometres from the Tuscan coast, this is a characterful and well-structured Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon blend typical of this relatively new DOC.
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines are cultivated in sandy-silt soils typical of the Bolgheri region. The grapes are carefully selected and undergo 18 days fermentation and maceration in stainless steel. Followed by 12 months maturation in French oak, and a further 3 months in bottle. The blend is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink with ravioli and meat ragu, braised duck breast or grilled lamb chops.
